When a customer sees that PermaSafe is used throughout the dealership (stickers on doors, perceived “smell” of cleanliness, placards on inventory, seals on door pillars, easels on desks and counters, posters on walls, notices in bathroom, etc), they are more likely to express curiosity for their own use, starting with their vehicle.
Pre-treated Cabin Microfilters
To prevent premature compressor failure and a positive-pressure environment, most filters are designed with pleat spacing to trap large contaminates such as dust, dander, and pollen sized particles that is generally ineffective at inhibiting microscopic matter such as harmful and damage-causing microorganisms. And even if such matter could be filtered, it would only be temporarily trapped, not killed or inactivated, and eventually permeate through. Consider pretreating cabin air microfilter elements with PermaSafe Step 2 and inform customers why your filters are different and better than others. Otherwise, offer an upgrade to install STEP 2 when selling microfilter replacements to add long-term control of microbes including mold, mildew, fungi, algae, bacteria, and odors that the HVAC system circulates.
Insurance Company Allowances
It has been reported that automobile insurance companies have been either allowing or requiring body shop/collision centers to perform vehicle sanitization and disinfection with allowances of $25-$50.
At present, there may not exist a better display of customer-service than complementary vehicle sanitization of vehicle high-touch points, and for just pennies and seconds per car.

Consider bumping “Shop Supplies” a couple of dollars per RO to account for the application of 1 oz. of Step 1 chemistry.
When the advisor reviews the technician’s notes and recommendations with the customer, recommend that the customer have the vehicle treated with PermaSafe for a nominal fee and no significant addition to delivery time.
Implement a complimentary sanitization of high-touch surfaces (steering wheel, gearshift, window switches, center console armrest, door handles, and touchscreen) and inform customers of same. Offer the option to expand treatment to all interior cabin surfaces and HVAC System, and the availability of Step 2 for long-term antimicrobial protection, odor resistance, and material surface preservation.
Transport Vehicle & Rideshare Service
High-occupancy and high-passenger turnover vehicles gather many people quickly, as well as their biological footprints. Shedding skin cells, saliva, snot, sweat, spit projectiles during conversation and cell phone calls… we all produce it. Add in filth tracked in on shoes and dislodged by floormat carpet fibers, and a transport vehicle has become one of the most germ-ridden environments that anyone may ever encounter.
HVAC odors? Spilled something on the floor? Funky smell coming from somewhere in the car?
Add PermaSafe to all major service intervals, so every LOF/Rotation/Microfilter/Fluid service is enhanced.
Add PermaSafe to reader boards and service menus. Position market materials on advisor counters, customer waiting area/lounge, refreshment areas, and other high visibility areas. Remember to inform 100% of customers 100% of the time!
When checking-in the vehicle and conducting walk-arounds, check for the PermaSafe door cling on driver’s door jamb or upper-left corner of the windshield. Inform the customer that you don’t see record that their vehicle has ever been sanitized or protected with PermaSafe. If sticker is present, inform the customer that it has been X-months since the passenger cabin and HVAC system has been disinfected and protected. Explain options available and inform them that a treatment will not add any significant amount of time to their service.
All loaners should be pretreated with PermaSafe, fitted with a PermaSafe Rearview Mirror Hangtag, and “Sealed” with a B-Pillar Door Seal for the customer to acknowledge and remove. Initial impression upon entry will be maximized.
An exponentially growing service for dealerships. While it reduces customer traffic through the dealership property, it doesn’t reduce the number of different occupants that enter the vehicle. Upon return to the customer, the delivery representative can spot-treat the high-touch surfaces (steering wheel, gearshift, window switches, center console armrest, door handles, and touchscreen) and apply a b-pillar seal for the customer to acknowledge and remove.

Add PermaSafe to your Pre-Paid Maintenance Program Schedule. Each Maintenance Interval will be enhanced with real, perceivable value. Bump price, profit, and value of an otherwise “boring” product.
Preload only STEP 1 onto vehicle and then offer an upgrade to STEP 2 in F&I. Pro-Tip: Bundle enough profit into the preloaded/preinstalled STEP 1 so that any upgrades upsold in F&I are a “free” product for the department (100% profit).
Use the inexpensive/high perceived value PermaSafe System as a “give-away” to encourage uptake of higher-dollar product sales like VSC (Vehicle Service Contacts).
Preinstall PermaSafe STEP 1 (with or without STEP 2) unto the interiors of New and/or Preowned Vehicles during Prep, Get-Ready, PDI, UCI, or Reconditioning as last step prior to displaying the vehicle for sale. Mark treated vehicles with the 5” window cling or rearview mirror hangtag to discern treated units from untreated and inform customers of the steps you’ve taken to protect them and preserve the interiors of your vehicles.
List the PermaSafe System and brief description on an addendum sticker affixed to the glass beside the manufacturer’s Monroney window sticker indicating that you’ve already installed PermaSafe onto the unit. Can be priced or $0.
